Opportunity details

Background :

Neami’s Engagement team deliver communications, marketing and engagement activities to support our relationships with consumers, staff, funders, and broader communities. The team also work to raise awareness of Neami services and the impact they have.

We are developing several projects this year and aim to centre the perspectives of Neami service users within our planning.

We will consult people in the Lived Experience Project Group to help us develop our strategy and approach on a range of engagement activities. Topics will include redeveloping our website, refreshing our brand, and our advocacy within the mental health sector.

This is an opportunity to help shape the direction of Neami’s engagement work. As a current or previous Neami service user, we value your perspectives.

You don’t need any special knowledge about our projects or the topics we will discuss. Our aim is to make sure our work is accessible and meets the needs of people with lived and living experience in our communities.

The Opportunity:

The Lived Experience Project Group will meet online for a series of consultations with Neami Engagement team members from July – September 2022.

If you are unable to join our group sessions, we may be able to support individual consultations, so please contact us to discuss.

You don’t need any prior knowledge about the engagement topics we will discuss. An info-pack may be provided for some sessions, so you can familiarise yourself with the topic before the meeting.

What’s the time commitment?

The group will meet 7 times from July – September 2022.

  • 1 x 1-hour Information and Getting to Know You session (mid-July, date to be confirmed)
  • 6 x 1.5-hour Advisory Group Meetings (consultations) (July – September, dates to be confirmed)

Sessions will be run on weekdays (Mon-Fri), and we have the flexibility to hold them during business hours or in the evenings. Please let us know your availability when you apply.

How much will I be paid?

At Neami we value your time, perspectives and expertise. Participants will be remunerated at a rate of $40 per hour (your choice of payment or e-voucher) for the time you attend each group session, plus an extra hour per meeting. This will cover your reading time and if we need you to provide any follow-up feedback after the sessions, as well any time spent communicating with us to schedule the sessions.

The time commitment and remuneration for attending all planned sessions are listed below.

  • 1 x 1-hour Information and Getting to Know You session: $40
  • 6 x 1.5-hour Advisory Group Meetings: $60 each (total $360)
